Support Ocean Youth Trust South and help start a life-changing voyage

Vikki is 12 and has been bullied. She’s lost her confidence, won’t speak up in class and is frightened of meeting new people. Dan is 19: he found school difficult, has no qualifications and can’t find work - he’s struggling to prove to any potential employer that he can be reliable, work in a team or take on responsibility. And Amy is 16 and helps look after a sister with a serious medical condition which means she won’t live to be an adult – Amy feels isolated from her friends and although she’s worried about her exams she hasn’t said anything at home as she thinks her mum has enough to cope with already.

Sail training with Ocean Youth Trust South could be the opportunity of a lifetime for Vikki, Dan and Amy, helping each of them to a brighter future.  (more…)

Did you know that just ONE acre of rainforest (roughly the size of 1 football pitch) contains up to 86 different species of tree, with the amphibians, birds, insects and mammals that depend on them? It costs just £100 to purchase and protect an acre with the World Land Trust, to save threatened habitats and its wildlife from destruction. By having a Little Sharers party in support of the World Land Trust "Buy an Acre" project, you can create permanently protected nature reserves in Argentina, Ecuador and Mexico. (more…)

A message from our friends at Ovarian Cancer Action

We are so excited to partner with Little Sharers! Here at Ovarian Cancer Action we are driven by a simple belief; we are defined in life by our actions, not our words – and by choosing us as the charity partner for your special celebration, you are taking action to save lives. Monday 19th June is World Sickle Cell Day.

If this is also your birthday, perhaps you’d like to support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity with your Little Sharers party? Sickle cell is an inherited blood disorder which affects the red blood cells. The cells become misshapen, and because of their sickle shape, they can’t squeeze through small blood vessels as easily as normal cells. Blood vessels then get blocked, stopping oxygen getting to where it is needed. It can cause severe pain, organ damage and stroke. (more…)
